Broadland District Council have introduced a new Public Spaces Protection Order which means you could be fined up to £1000 for not clearing up your dog waste.

Local elections will be taking place on 2nd May 2019. Anyone interested in becoming a councillor must complete nomination papers and submit these by hand to Broadland District Council office between 20th March and 4pm on 3rd April. Following the elections all newly elected councillors will take office on Tuesday 7th May.

An extraordinary meeting​ of the Parish Council will take place on Wednesday 23rd January 2019, 7pm in the village hall. The purpose of this meeting is to solely discuss to Council's response to the Norwich Western Link consultation.

The Parish Council would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. The next Parish Council meeting is Wednesday 13th February 2019, 7pm in the village hall. The Police and Crime Commissioner is currently running a consultation on whether to increase the amount the public pay towards the policing budget (collected through council tax). Further information and details of how to submit comments is available on the PCC website. The consultation closes on 30th January.

December 2018

The Village Hall Committee would like to thank everyone who attended the Christmas Festive Quiz last week. The event raised £279.13. It was a full house and a fantastic evening. Thank you also to everyone who organised the event and donated raffle prizes. We look forward to the next event.

Following the recent resignation of Sally Blyth the council have a casual vacancy for a Parish Councillor. This vacancy is available until April 2019 when the elections will take place. Being a Parish Councillor can be a very rewarding role and offer you the opportunity to be more involved in the community in which you live. If anyone is interested in the role please contact the clerk in the first instance who can provide more information on what is involved and provide you with a short application form to complete.

May 2019

Local elections will be taking place on 2nd May 2019 and all newly elected councillors will take office on Tuesday 7th May. This year Honingham have an uncontested election therefore all those nominated will become Parish Councillors.

The Village Hall Management Committee will be holding their annual meeting immediately after this months Parish Council meeting on Wednesday 8th May. The meeting is expected to start at approximately 8pm and everyone is welcome to attend.

The Bowls Club open evenings are expected to re-start in late May. The Bowling Green is being prepared with the creation of a new putting area. Open evenings are free to attend, donations are welcome. Full details will be confirmed soon.

Future visit dates for the Mobile Library have been amended. The next Mobile Library visit is on Wednesday 29th May. Stops remain at the same times and locations; Fellowes Road 9.40-9.55am and The Pump 10-10.15am.

The Environment Agency will be carrying out some maintenance to the RIver Tud between April 2019 to March 2020.

April 2019

The Norwich half marathon is taking place this Sunday 7th April and as usual the route will be passing through Honingham and the surrounding villages between approx 10.30am-1.30pm. There will be some localised road closures during the race. Please take a look at the map for approximate timings of the closures and maybe even plan when and where you might pop along to cheer the runners on.

 

The next village litter pick will take place on Sunday 14th April, 10am, starting at the village hall. Volunteers welcome to turn up on the day, all equipment will be provided. UPDATE - Following a successful litter pick with an incredible 12 bin bags of litter has been collected. Thank you to everyone who volunteered.

The blind spot mirror has been installed on the drive to the village hall. Thank you to the councillors involved in installing this.

There will be temporary road closure of Blind Lane from its junction with the A47 to its junction with Red Barn Lane between 1-21st April.

An extraordinary meeting​ of the Parish Council will take place on Wednesday 23rd January 2019, 7pm in the village hall. The purpose of this meeting is to solely discuss to Council's response to the Norwich Western Link consultation.

The Parish Council would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. The next Parish Council meeting is Wednesday 13th February 2019, 7pm in the village hall. REMINDER - The Norwich Western Link consultation will be visiting Honingham on Wednesday 16th January between 2-8pm in the village hall.  We urge all parishioners to drop in and find out more about the 4 proposed routes of this new road and to submit their comments.

The Police and Crime Commissioner is currently running a consultation on whether to increase the amount the public pay towards the policing budget (collected through council tax). Further information and details of how to submit comments is available on the PCC website. The consultation closes on 30th January.

The Village Hall Committee would like to thank everyone who attended the Christmas Festive Quiz last week. The event raised £279.13. It was a full house and a fantastic evening. Thank you also to everyone who organised the event and donated raffle prizes. We look forward to the next event.

Following the recent resignation of Sally Blyth the council have a casual vacancy for a Parish Councillor. This vacancy is available until April 2019 when the elections will take place. Being a Parish Councillor can be a very rewarding role and offer you the opportunity to be more involved in the community in which you live. If anyone is interested in the role please contact the clerk in the first instance who can provide more information on what is involved and provide you with a short application form to complete.

November 2019

Konect Bus are proposing changes to the number 4 bus service through the village. For full details please visit their website.

Colton Road will be closed around the Fellowes Road area between 19th - 25th November. Access to Mattishall Road will be via Berrys Lane or Norwich Road.
 

The Parish Council has implemented a new Grants Policy for local organisations that benefit the parishioners of Honingham. Grants of up to £250 are available. For more information and to apply please read the policy. The deadline for applications is 15th January 2020.

 

The Council would like to remind all parishioners to consider the public when depositing rubbish in the village bins. The bin at the Pump has been overflowing recently with dog waste being left on the floor next to the bin. If you see any incidences similar to this please report them to the Clerk.

October 2019

Church Lane in East Tuddenham will be closed​ between 21 October - 1 November 2019. Parishioners may experience an increase in traffic through the village during this time.

The next village litter pick will take place on Sunday 13th October, 10am meeting at the village hall. Volunteers welcome, just turn up on the morning, all equipment provided.

Kimberley & Carleton Forehoe Parish Council are holding a public Council meeting on Friday 4th October, 6.30pm at St Peters Church, Kimberley, to discuss the possible impacts of the Norwich Western Link on their village. MP George Freeman will also attend to listen to parishioners concerns. Parishioners from Honingham are welcome to attend. Please note that the meeting will focus around the opinions of Kimberley & Carleton Forehoe.

The next fundraising event at the village hall takes place on Sunday 6th October between 2-4pm. There will be a table top sale, alongside the village history collection which will be on display. Refreshments will also be available so why not come along. Take a look at the poster for full details.

Berrys Lane will be closed between 8-12 July 2019, a diversion will be in place during this time.

Local elections will be taking place on 2nd May 2019 and all newly elected councillors will take office on Tuesday 7th May. This year Honingham have an uncontested election therefore all those nominated will become Parish Councillors.

The Village Hall Management Committee will be holding their annual meeting immediately after this months Parish Council meeting on Wednesday 8th May. The meeting is expected to start at approximately 8pm and everyone is welcome to attend.

The Bowls Club open evenings are expected to re-start in late May. The Bowling Green is being prepared with the creation of a new putting area. Open evenings are free to attend, donations are welcome. Full details will be confirmed soon.

The Norwich half marathon is taking place this Sunday 7th April and as usual the route will be passing through Honingham and the surrounding villages between approx 10.30am-1.30pm. There will be some localised road closures during the race. Please take a look at the map for approximate timings of the closures and maybe even plan when and where you might pop along to cheer the runners on.

 

The next village litter pick will take place on Sunday 14th April, 10am, starting at the village hall. Volunteers welcome to turn up on the day, all equipment will be provided. UPDATE - Following a successful litter pick with an incredible 12 bin bags of litter has been collected. Thank you to everyone who volunteered.

The blind spot mirror has been installed on the drive to the village hall. Thank you to the councillors involved in installing this.

There will be temporary road closure of Blind Lane from its junction with the A47 to its junction with Red Barn Lane between 1-21st April.
